“Its not me in the sex video,” says Ranjitha

BANGALORE: Tamil actress Ranjitha on Friday denied that she was the woman in a sex romp video involving self-styled godman Nityananda Swami. “I am not the woman in the video,” Ranjitha said at a press meet in Bangalore in her first public appearance after the sex scandal broke out in March. “What has happened in the last few months has been fabricated,” Ranjita, who on Thursday lodged a police complaint against Lenin Karuppan, former driver of Nityananda who caught the swami in the sex act and then released the video clippings.
Ranjitha said she had no knowledge about alleged sexual exploitation by the swami.
“I do not know anything about this. I came to know only from media reports.”
She, however, asserted: “I am a devotee of Nityananda and will remain so.”
Ranjitha claimed that media had hounded and maligned her just because she was a public personality.
She denied she had absconded after the video was telecast, first by some Tamil TV channels.
“I was scared. I was threatened. Hence I left for the United States on March 3 and returned on June 14,” Ranjitha said.
“I am an ordinary woman with my own fears. I did not know what will happen to me or to my parents. So I went off. I was not absconding,” she said.
The actress said she decided to come into the open as “I was tired of being hounded and maligned when I had not done any wrong”.
In the complaint she filed with Ramanagaram police Thursday, she accused Lenin and two others of maligning her image.
Ranjitha said she has been a devotee of Nityananda for over a year now as she was interested in social work and spirituality. She said the video episode had harmed her career but she was still getting offers.
“I have been in the film world for 18 years now. This episode did harm my career but I am still getting offers.”
Nityananda has been chargesheeted by the police with rape, unnatural sex, cheating, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy. Four associates, including a woman, have also been chargesheeted.
Nityananda, who has a sprawling ashram complex at Bidadi about 35 km from Bangalore, in Ramanagaram district, is on bail.

Suspecting foul play, an attempted rape ''complaint'' filed by a female devotee of Nithyananda against Lenin Karuppan, the man who blew the whistle on the godman in March this year, was treated as a “petition” by the Bidadi police station on Thursday.
The police suspect that the “complaint” by the devotee, A Pushpa, alias Supriyananda, could be an “instrument” to malign Lenin who, in a sting operation, had exposed Nithyananda’s romp with a Tamil actress. The police’s suspicion stems from the very contents of the complaint according to which Lenin allegedly threatened Supriyananda while she “was walking towards the bus stop on the Bangalore-Mysore highway along” with two other Nithyananda devotees “at about 8 am” on December 30. When the police tried to verify Lenin’s location, they found that he was in Chennai and not present in Bangalore or anywhere near Nithyananda’s Bidadi ashram over the past seven days.  The police officer who Supriyananda spoke to called up Lenin and satisfied himself that he was actually in Chennai. Sources close to Lenin in Chennai told Deccan Herald that he was aware of Supriyananda’s “petition” and that he was contemplating filing a defamation suit against the devotee. This forced the police to treat the complaint as a petition in which Supriyananda, originally from Kadalur district in Tamil Nadu, alleged that Lenin tried to molest and rape her a “couple of days after Guru Poornima” some time in July 2009. According to Supriyananda’s statement, a copy of which is available with Deccan Herald, Lenin allegedly took photographs of her in the nude on his cell phone. The next evening, Supriyananda’s statement says, Lenin “showed” her the “pictures on his cell phone and warned me not to disclose the previous day’s incidence”. She claimed she “could not file this complaint earlier” because she was “fear stricken”.

Tamil actress Ranjitha, who in March this year was shown to be in a sex romp with Nithyananda, on Thursday described in a complaint before a Ramanagara magistrate that the video featuring her and the godman was ''morphed''.

According to the complaint against Lenin Karuppan, whose secretly videographed romp between Nithyananda and Ranjitha was televised by news channels on March 2 this year, the “morphed video” was used to “blackmail and extort money” from her. In this context, the complaint — a copy of which is with Deccan Herald — says that in “furtherance of a conspiracy” Lenin “created a video with a man resembling Shree Nithyananda Swami and a woman having intimate relationship with him”. Police sources said Ranjitha’s complaint appeared to be a concerted effort to deny scientific evidence in the form of tests on the CD by the Hyderabad-based Forensics Science Laboratory. The FSL report had categorically concluded the CD was genuine. Actor avoided police Ranjitha’s complaint comes six months after she gave a statement to the Karnataka CID, which is investigating charges of rape and other sexual offences made against Nithyananda by Lenin.  After the scandal involving Nithyananda and Ranjitha went public, she avoided the police and officers had to travel to Chennai to record her statement in which too she had denied being the woman featured in the CD. When contacted, Lenin reacted saying Ranjitha’s complaint was false. “Everything in that complaint is false and I will take appropriate legal steps in the days to come,” Lenin said. Molestation The actress’ complaint recounts how Lenin would allegedly “pursue the complainant by unnecessarily coming and stationing himself near her and stare at her awkwardly”. It says that on February 13, 2010, Lenin, to her “shock and disbelief”, showed her poorly shot videos of his molestation of two Brahmacharinis on his laptop”. Nithyananda seeks MK’s intervention

IRUVANNAMALAI: Controversial godman Nithyananda on his first public address (Satsang) on his 34th birthday celebration at his ashram premises here on Wednesday said he has written to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi about the attacks continuing on him and his devotees.He also expressed confidence that the chief minister would take steps to safeguard him and his devotees. The godman poured out for more than three-and-a-half hours, his frustration on the attacks on him by the media.“After the video, I have become the most viewed spiritual leader on Youtube,” a beaming Nithyananda said adding “it became more popular than US president Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal”.He wondered how it became so popular and had such a wide reach though it did not have any explicit content. On the video reportedly taken on December 23, 24 and 25, last year, and made public on March 2, this year, he claimed, “It is a fully morphed, misinterpreted and manipulated with no element of truth in it”.  “After all these happenings I am enthralled to see the gathering who have come here to listen to this 33-year-old youth”. However, he failed to explain why he maintained silence over the issue over for the last 10 months. He lamented that the life of a woman (actress Ranjitha) was tarnished.  “Some people claiming to represent the media demanded crores of rupees besides threatening me but when I did not bend to their demands and preferred fighting them spiritually they carried out with such false propaganda, he said.  While he promised to answer all questions raised by the devotees he later said that he would maintain silence.

திருவண்ணாமலை : பிறந்தநாளை முன்னிட்டு, அருணாச்சலேஸ்வரர் கோவிலுக்கு வந்த சாமியார் நித்யானந்தாவை கண்டித்து, கோவில் முன் கறுப்புக் கொடி காட்டி ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடந்ததால், பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.

பக்தர்களுக்கு அனுமதியில்லை

* நித்யானந்தாவுடன் வந்த அனைவரும் வெளியூரை சேர்ந்த பக்தர்கள். சொந்த ஊரான திருவண்ணாமலை பக்தர்கள் எவரும் கலந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

* கோவிலுக்கு நித்யானந்தா வருவதையொட்டி, மூன்று டி.எஸ்.பி.,க்கள் உள்ளிட்ட நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட போலீசார், கோவிலை சுற்றி பாதுகாப்பு பணியில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

* கிரிவலப்பாதையில் உள்ள நித்யானந்தா பீடத்திற்கு அசம்பாவிதம் எதுவும் ஏற்படாதவாறு, பலத்த போலீஸ் பாதுகாப்பு போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.

* நித்யானந்தா கோவிலுக்கு வந்ததால், அதிகாலை 4 மணியிலிருந்து 7 மணி வரை பக்தர்களை கோவிலுக்குள் போலீசார் அனுமதிக்கவில்லை; வெளியூர் பக்தர்கள் மிகவும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டனர்.

Nityananda greeted with black flags

Controversial godman Swami Nithyananda was on Wednesday greeted with fierce black-flag protests at his home-turf, Tiruvannamalai, in Tamil Nadu.
Nithyananda, out on conditional bail and against whom the Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had recently filed a massive 430-page charge-sheet in the Ramnagaram Judicial Magistrate court, was visiting his “Dhyana Peetam” ashram at Tirunvannamalai on the occasion of his birthday. The tainted Swami faced a large group of volunteers and cadres of the two Communist parties and Left-wing organisations who waved black flags and shouted slogans, protesting his sexual misconduct, according to sources. They urged the ancient Arunachaleshwarar Temple authorities not to allow its hallowed precincts “be defiled” by the presence of Swami Nithyananda.

Black Flag demo against Nithyananda’s visit to temple

A Black Flag demonstration lead by CPI(M) workers, was held in the temple town of Tiruvannamalai in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu when self-styled Godman Nityananda, who was recently caught on video in a sleaze act, visited the Lord Arunachaleeswara temple today.
Reports received at the police headquarters here said the black flag demonstration, condemning his visit, was staged by workers of CPI(M), Tamil Nadu Farmers Association and the members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA).
About 40 CPI(M) activists and a few AIDWA members assembled at the Northern side entrance of the temple and staged a black flag demonstration thinking that the disgraced Godman might enter the temple from there.
However, Nityananda entered the temple through the southern side entrance. After having a darshan of Lord Arunachaleeswarar and his consort, he left the temple by the same entrance.
When he was proceeding towards his ashram, he spotted a group of farmers association members staging a black flag demonstration near a school.
Sensing trouble, he directed the driver to take a different route and reached his sprawling ashram where a large number of his ‘devotees’ were present.

A spiritual head should be free from all attachments and denounce world. However, it is not for this court to dwell on that issue. The public is already sensitized by media in this regard. Affecting and hurting religious feelings is more serious than a stab injury. “Actress Ranjtha, the woman in the CD, has so far not been questioned as she is in the US. The video footage showing arrested self-styled godman Nithyananda Swami in a compromising position with a Tamil actress is “genuine”, a top CID official said Thursday. “The video footage is genuine. It is untampered and there is no indication of alteration in the video. As far as image comparison is concerned, that is still to be done,”

 

CID’s Deputy IGP Charan Reddy said. The CD was sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory Hyderabad for analysis where it was found to be authentic, he said.

Ten months after the sex tape allegedly involving godman Nithyananda and actress Ranjitha hit the internet, the actress held a press conference here on Friday,claiming that it was not her in the sleazy video.  She also blamed Lenin(Nithyananda’s former devotee) and Christian missionaries for the video allegedly showing her in a sex romp with Nithyananda.

Addressing a packed press conference, the actress denied all the allegations against her. “It’s not me in the video,” said Ranjitha. “It is fabricated. I am not the person in it. In fact, at that time, I was in a room that I was sharing with another female devotee in the Dhyanapeetham ashram,” stated Ranjitha.

When asked why she had not come forward earlier if she was not the woman in the video, she said: “I was threatened with arrest and there are bigger powers at play. I did not know how to handle them and I am basically a person who minds my own business. I do not have a father who is the Chief Minister and I do not have the backing of a powerful political group to take on that kind of agenda and machinery. so I had moved out of the country; I came only for the CID inquiry. I was in the US all this time. I have registered a complaint with the magistrate’s court in Ramanagara” she said.

She also revealed that Nithyananda’s car driver Lenin was behind the release of the video and that there were some people working with him who had threatened to abscond her. But then came the bombshell. Ranjitha said a Christian missionary was behind the episode.

“I was being blackmailed and threatened by the accused and also by another man who belongs to a Christian mission,” said the actress. “I want to live, so I shall not name them. If I am assured of security by the Chief Minister of  Tamil Nadu government, I am ready to name the persons behind it. These people are working with Lenin Karuppu, Nithyananda’s former driver,” stated the actress.

The actress further expressed that Lenin had earlier attempted to rape her several times and had also threatened to kill her when she visited the Ashram in February. The actress stated that when she decided to take this matter to Swami Nithyananda, Lenin threaten to morph her pictures like how he had morphed the photographs of some inmates. In her complaint against Lenin,  and Chennai advocate Sridhar, she has stated that the morphed video was used to blackmail and extort money from her.

Though Ranjitha at one point said she regretted involving herself in the activities of the Ashram, she maintained that she remained a devotee of Nithyananda. The actress demurely stated that she would like to attend the celebrations underway at the Ashram, if the Ashram permitted.

Mean while, in response to her allegation, Lenin Karuppan, a one-time disciple of Swami Nithyananda, on the same day stuck to his claim that the video clips showing the self-styled godman and Ranjitha in compromising postures were genuine — and not doctored as claimed by the actress earlier in the day.

“It is Ranjitha and Nithyananda in the video. The forensic sciences laboratory in New Delhi has certified its genuineness. I am ready to demonstrate anywhere that the video is real,” he said at a press conference here, within hours after the actress spoke to the media in Bangalore.

Lenin, rubbishing the allegations, played an audio conversation to reporters and claimed that it was the voice of Nithyanandha who was pleading, trying to pacify and reach a compromise solution with him. He alleged that Nithyanandha had been running businesses and leading a luxurious life, besmirching the Hindu sanyasi tradition.

“Nithyananda is behind the complaint. Their intention is to divert the issue, harass and take revenge on me,” he added.

சமரசத்துக்கு மறுத்ததால் ரஞ்சிதா மூலம் பொய் புகார்

திருவண்ணாமலையை சேர்ந்த நித்யானந்தா சாமியார் பெங்களூரில் ஆசிரமம் அமைத்து பிரபல மானார். தமிழகத்திலும் பல்வேறு மாவட்டங்களில் இவரது ஆசிரம கிளைகள் உள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் நித்யானந்தாவுடன் பிரபல நடிகை ரஞ்சிதா ஒன்றாக இருப்பது போன்ற ஆபாச வீடியோ வெளியாகி பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது.

இது தொடர்பாக பெங்களூர் போலீசார் வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்து விசாரணை நடத்தினர். போலீஸ் தேடுவதை அறிந்ததும் தலைமறைவான நித்யானந்தாவை இமாச்சல பிரதேசத்தில் வைத்து போலீசார் கைது செய்தனர்.

இதன் பிறகு ஜாமீனில் விடுதலையான நித்யானந்தா வழக்கம்போல ஆசிரம பணிகளை செய்து வருகிறார். கடந்த சில நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு திருவண்ணாமலை ஆசிரமத்துக்கும் நித்யானந்தா வந்தார். ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் அவரை பார்ப்பதற்காக திரண்டனர். நித்யானந்தா மீதான வழக்கு விசாரணை கோர்ட்டில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

விரைவில் தீர்ப்பு கூறப்படும் என்று எதிர்பார்க் கப்படுகிறது. இந்த வழக்கின் காரண கர்த்தாவான நடிகை ரஞ்சிதா, கடந்த பல மாதங்களாக தலைமறைவு வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்து வந்தார். கடந்த 2 நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு பெங் களூர் கோர்ட்டுக்கு வந்த அவர் ஆபாச வீடியோவை வெளியிட்ட நித்யானந்தா வின் சீடர் லெனின் மீது பரபரப்பான குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களை கூறி வழக்கு தொடர்ந்தார்.

நித்யானந்தாவுடன் ஆபாச வீடியோவில் இருப்பது நான் இல்லை. லெனின் என்னை கற்பழிக்க முயன் றார். நான் அதற்கு ஒத்துழைக் காததால் இது போன்ற கிராபிக்ஸ் வீடியோவை அவர் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார் என்றும் ரஞ்சிதா கூறினார். இதற்கிடையே கடலூர் மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சுப்ரியானந்தா என்ற நித்யானந்தாவின் பெண் சீடர் ஒருவரும் லெனின், தன்னை கற்பழிக்க முயன்றதாக புகார் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

சீடர் லெனின் மீதான இந்த தொடர் புகார்கள் வழக்கை திசை திருப்புமோ என்ற சந்தேகமும் எழுந்துள்ளது. இது தொடர்பாக லெனினிடம் சில கேள்விகளை முன் வைத்தோம்.

கேள்வி:- ரஞ்சிதா மற்றும் நித்யானந்தாவின் பெண் சீடர் சுப்ரியானந்தா ஆகியோர் உங்கள் மீது கற்பழிப்பு புகார் கொடுத்துள்ளார்களே?

ஆபாச வீடியோ வெளியானபோது என் மீது பெங்களூர் பிடதி போலீஸ் நிலையத்தில் ஒரே நேரத்தில் 47 பேர் புகார் கொடுத்தனர். நித்யானந்தா வின் அறைக்குள் அத்துமீறி நுழைந்து வீடியோ எடுத்த என் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று புகாரில் கூறியிருந்தனர். இது தொடர்பாக 5 வழக் குகள் நிலுவையில் உள்ளன. உண்மையை சொல்ல வேண்டுமென்றால் அந்த வீடியோவை நானே எடுக்க வில்லை. எனக்கு கிடைத்த வீடியோ காட்சியை வெளியிட்டேன். அவ்வளவுதான்.

கே:- அப்படியானால் ஆபாச வீடியோவை எடுத்தது யார்? எப்படி எடுக்கப்பட்டது?

ப:- இதுபற்றிய அனைத்து விவரங்களையும் போலீசிடம் தெரிவித்துள்ளேன். குற்றப் பத்திரிகையில் அது இடம் பெற்றுள்ளது. ரகசியம் காக்க வேண்டியிருப்பதால் அது பற்றி இப்போது விரிவாக கூற முடியாது.

கே:- ஆபாச வீடியோவை நீங்கள் எடுத்ததாகத்தானே செய்திகள் வெளி வந்தன.

ப:- ஊடகங்களில்தான் அப்படி வெளியானது.

கே:- நீங்கள் சொல்வதை பார்த்தால் ஆபாச வீடியோ வின் பின்னணியில் நிறைய பேர் இருப்பார்கள் போல் தெரிகிறதே? அதுபற்றி கூற முடியுமா?

ப:- ஆபாச வீடியோ தொடர்பான வழக்கு கோர்ட்டில் நிலுவையில் இருப்பதால் அதுபற்றி விரிவாக பேச முடியாது. என்னைப் பொறுத்தவரை நித்யானந்தாவின் முகமூடியை கிழிக்கவேண்டும் என்று நினைத்தேன் அது நடந்து விட்டது. இன்று வரை எனக்கு மிரட்டல்கள் வந்து கொண்டுதான் இருக்கின்றன.

‘I’m not the one in CD’

Eleven months after he was clandestinely filmed making out with Tamil actress Ranjitha, Nithyananda on Tuesday denied it was he who featured in the CD in a compromising position with the woman.

Nithyananda’s claim also flies in the face of his own statement before the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in April 2010, when he admitted to his interrogators that he was the one who was filmed having sex with Ranjitha. In the 15-page statement, Nithyananda admitted, inter alia, to having had sex with Ranjitha several times as well as with 15 other women devotees.
“It was not me in the video. It is a morphed, manipulated, misrepresented video,” he repeatedly claimed in a press conference at his Bidadi ashram near here.

Resorting to humour, which bordered on the crude at times, he said, “The police should have asked the rape victim ‘If you were being raped why were you going to his room again and again for four years?’” The women devotees, who had gathered in large numbers, laughed and clapped.

The video, found to be authentic by the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad, seemed to be of no consequence to Nithyananda and his counsel K V Dhananjay. With a peremptory dismissal of the FSL report, he said his own experts from the US had clearly denounced it as fake and had raised a lot of objections to its authenticity.

Out of nowhere also came the sudden statement that he was being blackmailed by “powerful people” who had demanded Rs 100 crore from him and later scaled it down to Rs 60 crore, but he had held his ground and refused to agree. Refusing to disclose names, Nithyananda said he had informed the police of this and since they could not do anything about it, he would reveal the names in a court.

Playing the victim, Nithyananda chose to blame everyone and everything else for his predicament. At different points in time during the press conference, he said he was being religiously persecuted “because of ideological differences”.

He said causing a dent in his popularity was not easy since he was one among the most-watched gurus in the world.

However, in his statement to the CID, of which Deccan Herald has a copy of, Nithyananda had clearly alluded to frequent sexual activity. He had also held his devotees responsible for demanding sex from him.

CID officers reacted saying: “When the matter is sub judice, why should it not be applicable to him?” They said there was scientific evidence to prove that the CD was genuine.

தற்போது ஜாமினில் வெளியே வந்திருக்கும் நித்தியானந்தா அந்த விவகாரத்திற்கு பின் வெளியூர்களுக்கு செல்வதில்லை.

ஆஸ்ரமத்தில் இருந்த படி சத்சங்கம் நடத்தி வந்தார். டிசம்பர் 29ந்தேதி நித்தியானந்தாவின் ஜென்மா நட்சத்திரம். அந்த தேதியில் உலகின் எப்பகுதியில் இருந்தாலும் திருவண்ணாமலை வந்து அண்ணாமலையாரை தரிசித்து விடுவார்.

அதன்படி இந்த ஆண்டும் திருவண்ணாமலை வருவதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை செய்யப்பட்டது. கர்நாடகா நீதிமன்றம் தந்த உத்தரவையடுத்து இன்று திருவண்ணாமலை வந்து அண்ணாமலையாரை தரிசித்தார். விடியற்காலை 5 மணியளவில் கோவிலுக்குள் வந்த நித்தியானந்தா 7.50க்கு புஜைகளை முடித்துக்கொண்டு வெளியே சென்றார்.

நித்தியானந்தாவின் வருகைக்கு சி.பி.எம், ஜனநாயக வாலிபர் சங்கம், அனைத்திந்திய மாதர் சங்கம், தமுஎகச அமைப்பு போன்றவை எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்து கறுப்பு கொடி காட்டின. இதனால் பயந்து போய் ராஜகோபுரம் வழியாக கோயிலுக்குள் வந்தவர், பின் கோபுரம் வழியாக வெளியே சென்றார்.
கிரிவலப்பாதையில் அமைந்துள்ள அவரின் ஆஸ்ரமத்திற்கு முக்கிய சிஸ்யர்களோடு காரில் புறப்பட்டார்.
செங்கம் சாலை வழியாக சென்றவரை அங்கு மறைந்திருந்த சி.பிஎம்., ஜனநாயக வாலிபர் சங்கம், தமுஎகசவினர் சண்முக பள்ளியருகே கறுப்பு கொடியோடு காத்திருந்தனர். அவர்களை கண்டதும் பயந்து போன நித்தியானந்தாவின் கார், அவரின் கார் பின்னால் வந்த சிஸ்யர்களின் கார்கள் சடன் பிரேக் போட்டு நின்றன.
பின்னால் ரிவர்ஸ் எடுத்து திரும்பவும் நகருக்குள் காரை செலுத்தி அவலூர் பேட்டை சாலை க்கு போக்கு காட்டி பின் வேலூர் சாலைக்கு சென்று காஞ்சி சாலை வழியாக அவரின் ஆஸ்ரமத்திற்குள் போய் சேர்ந்தார் நித்தியானந்தா.
பயந்து பின்வாங்கி போன காரை கண்டு அவரது சிஸ்யர்கள், பக்தர்களே அதிர்ந்து போயினர்.

பாலியல் புகாருக்கு உள்ளான நித்யானந்தா கோயிலுக்குள் வந்ததால் புனிதம் கெட்டுவிட்டது என்று ஆர்ப்பாட்டக்காரர்கள் கூறியுள்ளனர்.

அதன் பின் கோவிலின் ஒரு பகுதியில் அமர்ந்து அவரின் சிஷ்யர்களுக்கு விபுதி தந்து ஆசிர்வாதம் செய்தார். நீண்ட நேரம் கோவிலில் இருந்ததால் கடுப்பான காவல்துறை அவரை அங்கிருந்து வெளியே அனுப்பியது.

திருவண்ணாமலை: தனது 34வது பிறந்த தினத்தையொட்டி திருவண்ணாமலை கோவிலுக்கும் தனது ஆசிரமத்துக்கும் வந்த 'குஜால்' சாமியார் நித்யானந்தாவுக்கு எதி்ர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்து போராட்டங்கள் நடத்தப்பட்டன.

இதனால் கோவிலில் இருந்து வெளியேறுவதிலும், ஆசிரமத்துக்கு செல்வதிலும் அவருக்கு பெரும் பிரச்சனை ஏற்பட்டது. போலீஸார் மற்றும் பக்தர்களின் பாதுகாப்புடன் அவர் பத்திரமாக ஆசிரமம் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தார்.

ஆண்டுதோறும் தனது பிறந்த நாள் விழாவை திருவண்ணாமலை கிரிவல பாதையில் உள்ள தனது ஆசிரமத்தில் நித்யானந்தா கொண்டாடுவது வழக்கம்.

மேலும் பிறந்த நாளன்று அருணாச்சலேஸ்வரர் கோவிலில் அவர் சிறப்பு பூஜைகள் செய்வதும் வழக்கம்.

இதற்காக இன்று காலை 4.30 மணிக்கு அவர் பெங்களூரிலிருந்து திருவண்ணாமலை வந்தார். அவருடன் சுமார் 1,000 சீடர்கள் கார், வேன், பஸ்களில் வந்தனர். அவரது வருகையையொட்டி கோவிலில் பலத்த போலீஸ் பாதுகாப்பு போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.

காலை 4.50 மணிக்கு அம்மனி அம்மன் கோபுரம் வழியாக திருவண்ணாமலை கோவிலுக்குள் செல்ல முயன்ற நித்யானந்தாவுக்கு எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்து மார்க்சி்ஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் ஜனநாயக வாலிபர் சங்கம், அனைத்திந்திய மாதர் சங்கம், தமிழ்நாடு முற்போக்கு எழுத்தாளர் சங்கம் அமைப்பினர் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்தினர்.

இதையடுத்து அவர் ராஜகோபுரம் வழியாக கோவிலுக்குள் அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டார். கோவிலில் அருணாச்சலேஸ்வரருக்கு நடந்த சிறப்பு அபிஷேக ஆராதனையில் பங்கேற்றார்.

தொடர்ந்து அங்கு தியானத்தில் ஈடுபட்ட அவர் திடீரென கண் கலங்கினார்.

அதன் பின்னர் கோவிலில் உள்ள திருமண மண்டபத்தில் அமர்ந்து பக்தர்களுக்கு ஆசி வழங்கி விபூதி, குங்குமம் தந்தார். அவர் மிக நீண்ட நேரம் அங்கேயே அமரவே, அவரைப் பார்க்க பெரும் கூட்டம் கூடிவிட்டது. இதையடுத்து அவரை போலீசார் வெளியேறுமாறு கூறினர்.

இதையடுத்து காலை 7 மணிக்கு திருமஞ்சன கோபுரம் வழியாக கோவிலை விட்டு வெளியே வந்த நித்யானந்தா கிரிவல பாதையில் உள்ள தனது நித்யானந்தா தியானபீட ஆசிரமத்துக்கு கிளம்பினார்.

ஆனால், நித்தியானந்தாவின் வருகைக்கு எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்து மார்க்சி்ஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் ஜனநாயக வாலிபர் சங்கம், அனைத்திந்திய மாதர் சங்கம், தமிழ்நாடு முற்போக்கு எழுத்தாளர் சங்கம் அமைப்பினர் அங்கு கறுப்பு கொடிகளுடன் கூடி நின்று கோஷமிட்டனர்.

பிரச்சனையாகிவிடும் என்ற அச்சத்தால் மீண்டும் நித்தானந்தா கோவிலுக்குள் சென்று திருமஞ்சன கோபுரம் வழியாக வெளியே வந்தார்.

அங்கிருந்து காரில் தனது ஆசிரமத்துக்குப் புறப்பட்டார். அவரது காருக்குப் பின் சீடர்கள் கார், வேன்களில் வந்தனர்.

Nithyananda files fresh petition

Self-styled godman, Nithyananda has filed a fresh petition at the High Court seeking to quash the FIR against him lodged by Lenin Karuppan at Cubbon park Police Station.

Following the high drama at the Press Club on December 10, when some of the followers of Nithyananda interrupted his press conference, Lenin had lodged a complaint against Nithyananda and his followers Padmini, Preethi, Pranava, Priyananda, Pranananda, Shantananda. Nithyananda is accused no 7 in the matter.

Lenin, the complainant in the Nithyananda case, was speaking in public for the first time after his complaint against Nithyananda and the subsequent CID charge-sheet against the controversial godman.

Lenin during this time had alleged that at least 50 people whom the godman abused sexually had a non-disclosure agreement with him.Lenin had also alleged in the briefing that Nithyananda had offered him Rs 20 crore to remain silent.

CID on the lookout for Nithyananda’s disciples

he CID is on the lookout for two more disciples of Swami Nithyananda, the self-styled godman involved in a sex-tape scandal, following non-bailable warrants (NBW) on the two by a Ramanagaram court.
The disciples are identified as: Nithya Sadananda alias Dhanashekharan and Nithya Maa Scahidananda alias Ragini. Both had been issued NBWs and the CID has been asked to produce them before the chief judicial magistrate Ramanagaram.
The duo was arraigned in the case relating to Swami Nithyananda as co-accused. The NBW was issued on December 9 and the CID is required to produce them before the court before January 6.

Godman’s story in celluloid soon

The Swami Nithyananda scandal will soon be made into a movie by BJP leader Mr Madan Patel.

“Many people have shared their nightmarish experiences with me, so I already have sufficient material. But I am still open to more people talking to me about the issue, so that the film gets more depth,” said Mr Patel.

Since the sex scandal became public, Mr Patel has been keenly following the issue. “Since then I have come across lot of people who have narrated to me how they have been cheated and fooled by Swami Nithyananda, so I decided to make a movie as that will expose him totally. The hunt is now on for a Nithyananda look-alike so that I can cast him in the lead role,” said Mr Patel. He feels that only a look-alike can bring the desired effect so he is frantically searching for someone who will fit the bill.

Titled Satyananda — The true story of Nithyananda, the film will probably be on floors after January 14. “This is an inauspicious month, so we will be starting only after Jan 14,” added Mr Patel.

He said that the episode had shaken the faith of many devotees. “We believe that Swamijis are next only to God, but this one episode has tainted the faith and belief of thousands of devotees. This one person has actually brought a bad name to the entire clan of Godmen,” said Mr Patel.

He added that he would not bend to any influence, pressure or threat from anyone to stop this movie. “I know there will be pressure on me to stop this movie, but I will not give in to pressure,” said Mr Patel, who will be directing the film himself.

Nithyananda disciples face wrath of locals

Swami Nithyananda could be one of the most searched topics on Google, but the controversial godman and his disciples look averse to more publicity by the media. On Thursday, when he was leaving the Ramanagara sessions court, photojournalists captured his images. His disciples, however, caught up in a tiff with the media and locals.

The locals left the disciples severely beaten up. Nithyananda’s disciple accused that the attack was pre-planned.

Around 11 am on Thursday, after the hearing, Nithyananda with other disciples accused in the chargesheet, Nitya Bhaktananda and Nitya Sachidananda, were returning, when the media stopped them. Nithyananda’s advocate Srikanth said, “One of the disciples Jai Eshwar hurt his finger and screamed for help, when suddenly the mob spread rumours and chased Eshwar a distance and beat him up. So far we haven’t lodged any complaint and suspect this was pre-planned.”

The media alleged that the disciples were trying to block the cameras and were manhandling them.

The CID had chargesheeted Nithyananda for rape, unnatural sex, cheating, criminal intimidation and conspiracy on November 27. The 430-page-long chargesheet is before the CJM, Ramanagara.
Hearing on the case has been posted to January 6, 2011.

Initially, the case was adjourned to December 30 as the counsellors argued that the CID was yet to trace the two other accused Nitya Sadananda and Maa Sachidananda. Also certain cases are in Tamil and needed translation which would need some time.

‘Nithya called himself god of boons’

BANGALORE: Tainted Swami Nithyananda who reportedly claims to be Varadamurthy (the god of boons) compelled his devotees to wear a neck piece and bracelet with his photo and assured that it would protect them from all evils.

An officer of the Criminal Investigation department said the swami also asked his men to perform pada seva (worship his feet) and paduka yatra (carry his footwear on head).

A CID officer said Nithyananda himself needed protection as not only the CID but also the public who were angry with his alleged misdeeds, including exploitation of men and women in the name of enlightenment, for calling himself Ramakrsihna Paramahamsa, Avathara Purusha, etc.

One of the witnesses in the chargesheet filed against him in the Ramanagaram court said he made the mistake of believing him not just a Guru but as God.

Thousands of people who were his devotees and disciples, many of them highly educated and almost twice the swami's age, accepted him as god, says the statement in the chargesheet. "Like them, I also made the mistake of believing that he was God, that he was infallible and that he was the embodiment of truth and compassion," says the statement.

The chargesheet says Nithyananda exploited many of his disciples psychologically, mentally and physically by claiming to be god.

Nithyananda reportedly hinted his devotees to do his arathi, pada puja and suprabhatam in his praise. The arathi song at the temple was "Om Jai Nithyananda", a CID officer said. In the early morning hours, a "Nithyananda suprabhatam" song in Tamil, specially written for Nithyananda and describing him as God, was played at the temple and worship areas.

On Guru Poornima, senior disciples sat at his feet and performed puja of his feet, while brahmacharis did arathi.

The brahmacharis also carried his footwear on their head and walked from village to village explaining to villagers about him, said a CID police official.

In 2006, he declared a photo of his to be the Varadamurthy and declared that if anyone prayed to his picture, their prayers will be answered, says the chargesheet. He also declared himself an avatar purusha (God's incarnation as human being) and encouraged people to chant his mantra "Om hreem Nithyanandaya namaha" and promised his devotees he will protect them, said the officer.

Nithyananda: Sex and the single Swami

I am Krishna and you are my Gopika," sounds like an appalling pickup line, but if the Karnataka police are to be believed, it was frequently employed by 33-year-old Swami Nithyananda or Paramahamsa Nithyananda of the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam at Bidadi, Karnataka, to seduce his female devotees.

The 430-page chargesheet filed by the Karnataka CID on November 27 against Nithyananda was prompted by the complaint of a young lady (whose name and identity has been withheld by the CID as part of the witness protection programme) accusing the swami of sexual abuse at the Bidadi Ashram, 37 km from Bangalore, and in other locations. Her complaint says Nithyananda insisted on "seeking moksha through sexual union" with several female devotees by claiming to be incarnations of various gods. The swami made them sign non-disclosure agreements (NDA) forbidding them to reveal sexual details. The signed NDA (in the possession of INDIA TODAY) states that "the volunteer understands that the programme may involve the learning and practice of ancient tantric secrets associated with male and female ecstasy, including the use of sexual energy for increased intimacy/spiritual connection, pleasure, harmony and freedom. Volunteer understands that these activities could be physically and mentally challenging and may involve nudity, access to visual images, graphic visual depictions and descriptions of nudity and sexual activity, close proximity and intimacy, verbal and written descriptions and audio sounds of a sexually oriented and erotic nature."

The agreement also absolves the ashram of any wrongdoing with an additional clause in the NDA: "By reading and signing this document, volunteer irrevocably acknowledges that he/she is voluntarily giving unconditional acceptance of such activities and discharges the leader and the foundation, and anyone else not specifically mentioned here but directly or indirectly involved in the organisation, management or conduct of any such programmes from any liability, direct or indirect, arising from such activities." A further sentence states that the "volunteer also affirms that he/she does not find sexual or adult-oriented material associated with the practice of any tantric rituals or any other adult material to be offensive or objectionable."

DIG Charan Reddy of the CID says no court would admit an agreement like this, "full of illegalities, but we are quite sure that by the time the victims signed it, they had already been exploited or brainwashed with not much of a chance to protest." The cops claim to have snagged video clips showing the godman in compromising positions with at least five women-a charge the ashram scoffs at. "It's difficult to put a number to his victims, but I would guess not less than 15," says Reddy. After the chargesheet was filed, summons on the case number 204/2010 in Ramanagaram court were issued to Nithyananda, his aides Sachitananda and Sadhananda aka Ayya, the man in charge of the ashram's Tamil Nadu operations. Summons have been also issued to Ma Sachidhanantha aka Ragini who runs the Hyderabad branch of the ashram.
The police have seized documents, videos and other incriminating objects from the Bidadi ashram to be produced as evidence in court. The Dhyanapeetam, however, insists that investigating officers have only taken hard drives pertaining to the ashram's publications department, which contain no incriminating evidence.

The sex sanyasi gained instant notoriety in March 2010 when Sun TV aired a tape of him allegedly cavorting with Tamil starlet Ranjitha. His ashram was set on fire by protesters and the godman, accompanied by Sachitananda and Bhaktananda, fled to Solan, Himachal Pradesh. They were arrested in April and granted bail after three months for lack of evidence proving that the sex video was authentic; even if it was, it showed consensual sex between adults. Dhyanapeetam ashramites allege that the present chargesheet is another attempt to discredit the swami after the sleaze tape charges failed to stick. "There is no technology in the world that can verify the recording as authentic, I challenge you," says Swami Sachitananda with a perceptible American accent.

Nithyananda arrested in Solan, Himachal Pradesh

The tape was reportedly leaked to the TV station by Nithyananda's disgruntled driver Dharmanandha or Lenin Karuppan who filed the complaint against the swami on March 4 with Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran in Chennai. The case was transferred to Bidadi police station on March 14 and on to the CID on March 18. The Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam is fighting back with counter cases and by allegedly releasing information that is meant to discredit opponents. In another police complaint filed by Lenin, Nithyananda is accused of sodomising a former devotee from the US, Vimalananda. Vimalananda has not filed a formal complaint but the CID's hope that he would depose at Nithyananda's trial was dashed when Vimalananda was charged for child molestation in the US last week. Lenin insists that the ashram conspired to have Vimalananda arrested, while the Dhyanapeetam mocks the CID for being short-sighted in trusting a paedophile. "Nithyananda's is an organised cult. They have filed 53 cases of conspiracy against me saying that I had released the video. But I didn't do it," says Lenin. Apart from rape, Nithyananda also faces charges of land grabbing, gold smuggling, violating the Wildlife Protection Act and foreign exchange regulations, all of which the ashram has refuted. "Our accounts are perfectly in order, and can be inspected by anyone," says Bhaktananda. "This is not the 1980s when gold smuggling was lucrative. Now, there is no price difference, so it wouldn't make business sense for anyone to smuggle gold. Why should we do it?"

The police say that a probe will be initiated into the wealth of Nithyananda and the ashram. The swami is alleged to have amassed Rs 140 crore in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. He loves to sit on a 24k gold-plated throne wearing heavy gold chains. The ostentation and scandals have turned many disciples against him. Once a Nithyananda acolyte, US-based businessman Maheshwara, disillusioned with the sex video, wants the swami to pay back the $2.5 million he spent on a land mortgage for the Nithyananda Foundation in the US. "Donations are not meant to be returned," says Bhaktananda. "In any case, Maheshwara has been sending feelers about wanting to come back. All are welcome here, even those who have fallen out." Nithyananda, born Rajasekaran to poor parents in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, made it big as the 'child swami' in less than eight years. His younger brother Gopi aka Nithyeshwar, 30, manages the swami's finances and of the ashrams abroad. He also runs an import-export business named Nithyananda Import Export, registered at the Bidadi address. Nithyananda's usp is speaking English well and dressing up like Swami Vivekananda while swearing he's an reincarnation.

Q: What is your reaction on the formal complaint against Nithyananda by a former female devotee who has accused him of rape?
A: The way I understand the law, an incident has to occur, then there is a complaint, then an FIR is filed, after which the investigation takes place, which culminates in a chargesheet, followed by court proceedings and then there is a trial and a verdict. In this case, however, everything starts with not a complaint but an FIR. But what we have here is a complaint cloaked in secrecy. A witness whose identity will not be revealed and who will "come to the court, if and when required".
Q: There is the question of protecting the woman in question because the cops think you might intimidate or influence her to turn hostile or threaten her into withdrawing her complaint.

A: In the original complaint there is no word called 'rape', it has come as a creative invention of the officer in question. On July 23, we were told that Section 376 and 420 had been dropped. The CID has stated that the woman came on August 16 and 17 to lodge her complaint. The CID had several opportunities to inform the court of this development, which they did not. When the judge said he would quash the proceedings, the DIG decided to make the complaint public. It looks like they had something to hide and that they came up with this complainant quite mysteriously.
Q: Would you explain why a spiritual ashram would ask its devotees to sign a non-disclosure form with objectionable clauses?
A. We work all over the world. We have centres in 35 countries. We work in the US, Singapore, Malaysia and many other countries. We have many people who claim Swamiji's content, speeches and videos as their own and sell it; we wanted to protect ourselves from that. Secondly in the USA there are places where depictions of Ganesha and Devi's are considered pornographic and we do the Abhishekam. So these NDAs were created mostly to protect ourselves in the West. It might have been worded incorrectly, in fact I'm sure I've signed it but I haven't even read it. Also asking anyone to sign that document is not illegal, it is a holistic document, and we are not even lawyers, having the document is not illegal, the document is not implement able. Godman's disciples attack journalists

Bangalore: Tainted godman Nithyananda on Thursday appeared before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Ramanagaram in connection with the alleged sex scandal cases against him. The charges were levelled against him by his former driver Lenin Karuppan. His disciples Nithya Sachchidananda and others also appeared before the court. Judge Pushpavathi heard the case. Later, around 20 disciples of the godman attacked mediapersons present within the court premises in an attempt to shield Nithyananada from them. They reportedly manhandled the media representatives. The people who had gathered at the court then thrashed the disciples, who escaped.
Sridhar, an activist, told The Hindu that Nithyananda had allegedly brought with him anti-social elements from Tamil Nadu to the court, disguised in saffron robes. He said this was not the first time that the tainted swami's disciples had behaved this way.
Recently in Bangalore, disciples barged into Press Club and attacked Lenin Karuppan, who was briefing mediapersons.

Frustrated over swami's Nithyananda's sex romp wide coverage, disciples of Swami Nithyananda scuffled with the media camera crew to stop them videotaping their guru, during his appearance at the court yesterday.

The incident occurred at Ramnagar session court when Nithyananda along with his associates appeared before the Ramnagar sessions court.

Nithyananda has been summoned to appear before the sessions court after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed a chargesheet against him, accusing him of having sex romps with his disciples, criminal intimidation and hurting religious sentiments recently.

When Nithyananda stepped after the court posted the case to the next hearing, a group of media persons tried to take his video for which his associates tried hard to stop to whisk him away.

During the melee, an associate, identified as Ishwar, scuffled with a camera crew leading to heated arguments followed by a scuffle. Sensing danger, Nithyananda hurried towards his SUV and sped away leaving his associates behind.

However, no complaint has been filed in this regard. Ramnagar Superintendent of police said, "Though there is a general security cover in the court premises, we have not received any information on this incident," he said adding that the police were not even informed about Nithyananda's visit to the court yesterday.

It may be recalled that a local schoolteacher had hurled a slipper at Nithyananda while he was brought to the session court by the CID, a few months ago.

பெங்களூரு : சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா கோர்ட்டில் ஆஜரான போது, பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும், சீடர்களுக்கும் இடையே வாக்குவாதம் நடந்தது. பாலியல் புகாரில் கைதாகி ஜாமீனில் இருக்கும் சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா மீது, சி.ஜ.டி., போலீசார் குற்றப்பத்திரிகை தாக்கல் செய்தனர். ஆனால், சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா கோர்ட்டில் நேரில் ஆஜராகாமல், தனது வக்கீல் மூலம் பதிலளித்து வந்தார்.

இவ்வழக்கு விசாரித்து வரும் ராமநகர் நீதிமன்றம், சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா, அவருடன் கைதாகி ஜாமீனில் இருக்கும் அவரது சீடர் நித்ய பக்தானந்தா, மேலும் இவ்வழக்கில் பாலியல் ஒப்பந்தங்களை அளித்ததாக கூறி கைதாகி ஜாமீனில் இருக்கும் சச்சிதானந்தா ஆகியோர் 16ம் தேதி(நேற்று) கண்டிப்பாக நேரில் ஆஜராக வேண்டும் என்றும், இந்த வழக்கின் குற்றவாளிகளாக சேர்க்கப்பட்டு, கைது செய்யப்படாமல் உள்ள சச்சிதானந்தாவின் மனைவியும், ஆசிரம செயலர்களில் ஒருவரான மா சச்சிதானந்தா (எ) ராகினி, மற்றொறு செயலர் சதானந்தா (எ) தனசேகரன் ஆகியோருக்கு எதிராக கைது வாரண்ட் பிறப்பித்திருந்தது. சி.ஐ.டி., தரப்பில், இவர்கள் இருவரும் தலைமறைவாகி விட்டதாக புகார் தெரிவித்திருந்த நிலையில், நேற்று இந்த வழக்கு விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது.

இவ்வழக்கில் நேற்று கோர்ட்டில் சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா ஆஜராவார் என்று ஏராளமான பத்திரிகையாளர்களும், "டிவி' கேமராமேன்களும் குவிந்திருந்தனர். வழக்கத்திற்கு அதிகமாக கோர்ட் பரபரப்பாக காணப்பட்டதால், பொதுமக்களும் வேடிக்கை பார்க்க கூடியிருந்தனர்.

காலை 11.45 மணிக்கு சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா, அவரது சீடர் பக்தானந்தா, ஆசிரம செயலர் சச்சிதானந்தா ஆகியோர் கோர்ட்டில் ஆஜராக காரில் வந்தனர். அவர்களை தொடந்து பல வாகனங்களில் அவரது சீடர்களும் வந்தனர். சாமியார் வந்த கார், கோர்ட் வளாகத்தில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. அவரது சீடர்கள் கோர்ட்டிற்குள் சென்று, சாமியார் உள்ளே வரலாமா என விசாரித்து கொண்டிருந்தனர். அந்நிலையில் ஒரு தனியார் "டிவி' கேமராமேன், சாமியாரை படம் எடுப்பதற்காக, அவரது கார் கண்ணாடியை தட்டினார். இதனால், ஆத்திரமடைந்த சீடர்களுக்கும், கேமராமேனுக்கும் தகராறு ஏற்பட்டது.

அதை தொடந்து, அங்கிருந்த மற்ற நிருபர்கள், சீடரையும், நித்யானந்தாவையும் எதிர்த்து கோஷமிட்டனர். இதனால், சில நிமிடம் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா, அவரது சீடர் பக்தானந்தா, சச்சிதானந்தா ஆகியோர் நீதிபதி புஷ்பவதி முன்பு ஆஜராயினர். சாமியார் தரப்பு வக்கீல், ""பிடதி ஆசிரம செயலர் மா சச்சிதானந்தா, சதானந்தா ஆகியோர் உடல் நலம் சரியில்லாததால், அவர்கள் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகின்றனர். அவர்கள் குணமடைந்த பின், கோர்ட்டில் ஆஜராவார்கள். அவர்கள் தலைமறைவாக வில்லை,'' என்றார். வழக்கை விசாரித்த நீதிபதி புஷ்பவதி, இந்த வழக்கை ஜனவரி 6ம் தேதிக்கு தள்ளி வைத்தார்.
