after allegedly filming Nityananda and Ranjitha in a sex romp, Lenin Karuppan has now taken precautions to face any eventuality dealing with cases filed against him by the duo

A year and a half after Swami Nithyananda's infamous sex scandal broke the news, both Ranjitha and the scandalised swami are playing their cards well with an alleged eye for politics. However, the man reportedly behind exposing the spicy sex tape, is now planning to go against the duo in the case.

Actress Ranjitha accused Lenin Karuppan, initially portrayed as Nithyananda's driver and ardent devotee, of attempt to rape and he was further accused of extortion by Nithyananda's trust.

Now Lenin appears to have found an innovative way to recover from those nasty allegations and he and his supporters have taken to popular social networking site, Facebook, to make his statements public. Calling his supporters' initiative 'India against Holy fraud', Lenin said he is a one-man army.

Talking exclusively to MiD DAY he said, "I am a single man army. Actress Ranjitha and Swami Nityananda have been holding press conferences in Chennai to corner me by claiming that I was targeting them. Ranjitha has filed a fresh case against me in Chennai and I'll stand strong and deal with it."
'Devotee not driver'
Lenin further clarified that he was not the disgraced godman's driver as was being portrayed earlier. "I joined the ashram as a devotee in 2004 and in 2006 became a full fledged devotee. I used to visit the ashram in my own car and was not a driver," he said. Giving up his pest control business, he said that he felt strongly about the activities going on within the ashram in 2009.

"That is why  planted a camera inside the ashram in December 2009," claimed Lenin. The spicy footage was aired in March 2010. Post this, many cases were filed against Lenin in the Ramnagar court and now a case pertaining to threat has been filed by Ranjitha in Chennai.
Lenin informed that he will not budge and said that all attempts to stop him from fighting this case will yield no results. "I have faith in the advocate who is fighting on behalf of the CBI to prove the authenticity of the footage," he asserted.

C H Jadhav, High Court advocate and standing counsel for CBI, has alleged, "It's nothing but a fresh attempt to tamper and threaten the witness and complainant in the case." Reacting to the same, Nithyananda's personal assistant, Sachid swami said, "We have no worries. Let him do whatever he wants. We know that the law is on our side."
Lenin has now alleged that he is facing legal threats in the form of cases filed against him. He has 10 cases pending against him, out of which eight are in Karnataka. Three cases are pertaining to attempt to rape and now he plans to move the Supreme Court to challenge the summons issued by the JMFC court Ramnagar, to appear before the court on August 1, 2011.
Other side of the fence?
In a reversal of roles, the advocate who represented disgraced Swami Nityananda through the difficult period of revelations, has been forced to run for cover after his own client has turned the tables on him. M Sreedhar is now being accused of backstabbing and Nityananda is setting up the stage to drag him to court. The sex swamy has claimed that Sreedhar might have struck a deal while he was defending him as a client. "Sun Group and Nakiran Gopal, who the editor of a local daily, have tried to strike a deal against me using my own advocate Sreedhar as a pawn," Nityananda said while in Chennai. Countering this allegation, Sreedhar has now decided to file a defamation case against the swamy for Rs 10 crore. "Nityananda has made an allegation against me claiming that I have been trying to strike a deal with the Sun Group against him. Now I will take legal recourse on the matter," said Sreedhar.

In what is being portrayed as a massive legal battle, each of the parties involved are slapping various cases against the other. In all there have been over 20 legal suits filed against Nityananda, Ranjitha, Lenin and now Sreedhar.  Nityananda seems to be having no respite with religious organisations now attacking him openly. A group called the Hindu Makalkatchi from Chennai has slapped a case against Nityananda, of misusing the religious robe. The administrative head of the group, Arjun Sampath, who petitioned this charge said, "He has hurt religious sentiments and we are disappointed as he has misused the holy robes to further his agenda."

But Nithyananda has continued his blackmailing tactics of lodging false cases to force witnesses to withdraw and create fear among prospective witnesses who may turn up before the court and depose against him," he alleged.

Mr Lenin also said that Nithyananda was creating roadblocks for the investigation by furnishing false health certificates and other documents. "Many accused in the sex scandal are absconding after getting bail," he charged, denying media reports that the present Tamil Nadu government headed by Ms Jayalalithaa was trying to rescue Nithyananda. "Nithyananda had offered me Rs 20 crore when he came to know that I had the video footage of his sex scandal. But I did not want money. Now since he is creating lots of problems for me, I request social organisations and advocates to come forward and help me fight the case," he said

Godman Nithyananda's case stuck as files move between courts

The case against the controversial godman Swami Nithyananda still waits to be committed to trial after the CID filed the chargesheet in November 2010.

The delay is due to case files being shuffled between the Ramanagaram court and the High Court.

A recent application by the special public prosecutor seeking a direction for the medical examination of Nithyananda under section 53 (A) of the CrPC, has been challenged by Nithyananda. The Ramanagaram court is unable to dispose of the application as the case files are in the High Court.

The prosecutor said that the report received from the forensic expert on the video-recording was positive and that the image found in the video was conclusive of the presence of Nithyananda.

“ Medical examination of the accused in a case of rape is mandatory. When he was arrested, this examination could not be conducted as there was no victim then. Subsequently, a victim from the US approached the CID and gave a statement. Now, the accused has to go through the medical examination,’’ special public prosecutor K. Janardhan said.

Nithyananda challenged the application for his medical examination and moved another application stating it would be breach of privacy. The Ramanagaram court could not dispose of this application as the files relating to the case are in the High Court.

Moreover, the prosecutor said that the case was yet to be committed to trial as there have been several applications filed before the Ramanagaram CJM court on the chargesheet filed by the CID.

“Accused number 5 in the case (Maa Sachidananda alias Ragini) was denied court permission to travel to the US. But, accused number 2 (Nithya Bhaktananda alias Gopala Seelam Reddy) went to the US and had to return on May 12. He did not return and, through his advocates, moved another application seeking extension. The CID submitted an objection to this in a sealed envelop and stated that the accused were travelling to the US to tamper with the evidence and the only victim who lives there" Mr Janardhan said.

The Ramanagaram court refused to grant the extension sought. The CID stated that the accused who went to the US have lodged several complaints against the victim in an attempt to threaten her.

The CID has examined 101 witnesses spread across the country and even abroad and submitted a 430-page chargesheet against Nithyananda and others.

The CID stated in the chargesheet that during the investigation a woman from the US appeared before the CID and deposed that she was repeatedly raped by Swami Nithyananda not only at his ashram in Bidadi, but in other parts of the country.

The swami allegedly told the victim that if she subjected herself to his sexual demands she would achieve enlightenment and that sex with Swamiji was the path to moksha.

The CID also placed before the court agreements signed between the devotees and ashram authorities taking the consent of the devotees for partaking in tantrik sex.

(Accused) Nithyananda allowed to travel - only to Manasarovar

A court in Ramanagaram has granted permission to Nithyananda to make a pilgrimage to Mansarovar, on the condition that he return his passport to police by July 27.

Nithyananda had requested the court to allow him to visit Mansarovar, saying that he made an annual pilgrimage to the holy shrine in Tibet. He had pleaded the court to allow him to use his passport. The CID police have impounded Nithyananda’s passport.

Following the court order, Nithyananda’s close aide Swamy Sachidananda landed up at the CID office and submitted an authorisation letter, and collected the passport.

Bangalore:  Controversial godman Swami Nithyananda was admitted to Manipal hospital with both arms fractured after he fell off a horse he was riding at his Bidadi Ashram last morning.

According to the doctors who treated Nityananda, a bone had pierced through his skin and required corrective surgery.

Dr Raj Chakravarthy, HOD Orthopedic department Manipal, who performed the surgery on him said that he was brought to the hospital with compound fractured injuries in both forearms.

Chakravarthy informed that the surgery was successful and Nityananda was shifted to a ward for two days post operative care. Ashram spokesperson Sachid said that the incident occurred when Nityananda was riding his horse, which was a regular practice after his morning mediation session.

Devotees who had come for darshan gathered started cheering, following which his horse panicked and bolted, resulting in their swami falling to the ground. Sachid informed that he is currently fine and will probably be discharged shortly.

புகழின் உச்சியில் இருந்த நேரத்தில் கடந்த ஆண்டு மார்ச் மாதம் நித்யானந்தா சாமியாரும், பிரபல தமிழ் நடிகை ரஞ்சிதாவும், படுக்கை அறையில் ஒன்றாக இருப்பது போன்ற வீடியோ காட்சிகள் வெளியாகி பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது.

இது தொடர்பாக கர்நாடக மாநிலம் பிடதி போலீசார் வழக்கு பதிவு செய்து விசாரணை நடத்தினர். தீவிர தேடுதல் வேட்டைக்கு பின்னர் கைது செய்யப்பட்ட நித்யானந்தா பின்னர் ஜாமீனில் விடுதலை செய்யப்பட்டார்.

தற்போது வழக்கம்போல ஆசிரம பணிகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறார். இது தொடர்பான வழக்கு விசாரணை கர்நாடக மாநில ஐகோர்ட்டில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.  

இந்நிலையில் கடந்த டிசம்பர் மாதம் ராம்நகர் கோர்ட்டில் ரஞ்சிதா ஒரு மனு தாக்கல் செய்திருந்தார். அதில், நித்யானந்தாவுடன் நான் இருப்பது போன்ற தோற்றத்தில் உள்ள வீடியோ காட்சிகளை வெளியிட்ட லெனின் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தார்.

இந்த மனு மீது விசாரணை நடத்தப்பட்டது. மாஜிஸ்திரேட்டு ரூபா, லெனினுக்கு சம்மன் அனுப்ப உத்தரவிட்டார். இது தொடர்பாக லெனின் கூறியதாவது:-

கோர்ட்டு சம்மனை நான் சட்டரீதியாக சந்திப்பேன். நித்யானந்தா ஆசிரமம் சார்பில் என் மீது 43 பேர் மொத்தமாக போலீசில் புகார் கொடுத்தார். ஆனால் அது ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்படவில்லை. என் மீது தொடரப்பட்டுள்ள 8 வழக்குகளையும் நான் எதிர்கொண்டு வருகிறேன். இதில் 2 பெண்கள் தொடர்ந்த வழக்கு தள்ளுபடி செய்யப்பட்டு விட்டது.  

ரஞ்சிதாவும், நித்யானந்தாவும் ஒன்றாக இருப்பது போன்ற வீடியோ ஆதாரம் உண்மை என்பது நிரூபணமாகியுள்ளது. ரஞ்சிதா என் மீது தொடர்ந்துள்ள இந்த வழக்கில் இருந்தும் நான் நிச்சயம் வெளிவருவேன்.

State appointed C H Jadhav in Nithyananda case

BANGALORE: The State Government has appointed former public prosecutor C H Jadhav to represent the State in the cases filed against self-styled godman Nithyananda in Bidadi Police Station.

The government, besides appointing Jhadav as the Special Public Prosecutor in Crime No 141 of Bidadi police station through a notification issued on May 30, has stated that Nithya Dharmananda alias K Lenin should bear all the remuneration and salary of Jadhav. Incidentally, Jadhav has appeared for Lenin in the petitions filed by him.

These modern-day pied pipers offer, among other things, pathways to God, salvation, revolution, personal development, enlightenment, perfect health, psychological growth, egalitarianism, channels to speak with 35,000-year- old "entities," life in ecospheres, and contact with extraterrestrial beings.

There is truly a smorgasbord of spiritual, psychological, political, and other types of cults and cultic groups seeking adherents and devotees. Contrary to the myth that those who join cults are seekers, it is the cults that go out and actively and aggressively find followers. Eventually, those groups subject their followers to mind-numbing treatments that block critical and evaluative thinking and subjugate independent choice in a context of a strictly enforced hierarchy

Court summons against Lenin quashed

BANGALORE: The High Court has quashed the summons issued against Lenin Karuppan, former driver of the selfstyled godman Paramahamsa Nithyananda, by JMFC Court Ramanagar following a complaint by Anjula Jackson, a foreign devotee of the tainted seer.

Lenin had moved the court challenging the JMFC Court's issue of summons. Anjula, lodging a complaint with Ramanagar police, had alleged that he had violated Nithyananda's privacy, trespassed the living quarters of the selfstyled godman besides defamed the 'seer'. Later, the case was refereed to Bidadi police station.

The petitioner submitted that allegations made by the complainant did not satisfy the ingredients of the offence alleged against him. Taking cognizance of such a complaint and issuance of summons was bad in law and without application of mind by the Judge.

He also contended that the complaint was vexatious and an act of vengeance and as a consequence, following the complaint lodged by him against Nithyananda proceedings and sought to quash the complaint.

Hearing the petition Justice K V Keshavanarayana disposing off the petition filed by Lenin, directed the magistrate to consider the complaint afresh and quashed the order dated August 28, 2010 and the cognizance taken on October 30, 2010.

பெங்களூர், மார்ச் 31: நித்யானந்தாவின் முன்னாள் சீடர் லெனின் கருப்பனுக்கு கீழ்நீதிமன்றம் அனுப்பிய சம்மனை நிறுத்தி வைத்து உயர்நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

நித்யானந்தாவின் பெண் சீடரான அமெரிக்காவை சேர்ந்த அஞ்சுளா ஜாக்சன், லெனின் கருப்பனுக்கு எதிராக 2010 ஆகஸ்ட் 28-ம் தேதி ராமநகரம் மாவட்ட நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்திருந்தார்.

Single Judge Justice K N Keshavanarayana set aside the Judicial Magistrate Ramanagara Court's October 30, 2010 order of issuing summons against Lenin, who blew the lid off the alleged sleaze activities involving Nityananda and a Tamil actress.

The court also directed the Judicial Magistrate to reconsider the order and pass an order in accordance with law.

Lenin had shot the controversial video purportedly showing Nityananda in a compromising position with a Tamil actress.

Nityananda's US-based devotee Anjula Jackson had filed the complaint against Lenin on August 28 2010, alleging he had committed various offences under provisions of IPC when making the video.

He was subsequently arrested in Solan district in Himachal Pradesh on April 21 and granted conditional bail on June 11.

Nithyananda entity sued for fraud in US

A group of non-resident Indians (NRIs) has moved legally to invoke a United States federal law, whose intended use is it to prosecute the American mafia, against a non-profit organisation of Nithyananda, who is already at the centre of a controversy.
About 30 NRIs recently filed in the superior court in San Bernardino county of California a criminal case against a Oklahoma-based non-profit organisation, Nithyananda Foundation, and two of its directors, Ma Nithya Sadhananda, alias D Jamunarani, and Siva Vallabhaneni, alias Nithya Sachitananda. The court summons was served on Sachitananda on March 4, but it could not be served on Jamunarani, the wife of Nithyananda’s secretary Sadhananda, alias Dhanasekaran, since she is absconding from the Bidadi ashram near here. The NRIs have slapped charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations (RICO) Act and other criminal and civil charges involving fraud, conspiracy, breach of contract and unfair business practices. Under RICO, a person who is a member of an enterprise that has committed any two of 35 crimes—27 federal crimes and eight state crimes—within a 10-year period can be charged with racketeering. Those found guilty of racketeering can be fined up to $25,000 and sentenced to 20 years in prison per racketeering count. In addition, the racketeer must forfeit all ill-gotten gains and interest in any business gained through a pattern of "racketeering activity." According to the petition in the San Bernardino court, a copy of which is available with Deccan Herald, Nithyananda has at all times “controlled and operated the foundation as his own personal asset and piggybank”. The petition alleges that Nithyananda “controls numerous other organisations and transfers monies from one entity to another at will, including monies from the foundation to a company, Nithyananda Export and Import, that was created, operated and is run by Nithyananda’s brother.” The petition provides a specific example of invoices totalling $550,386.82 from Nithyananda Imports and Exports to Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam Temple and Cultural Centre for statues that were worth less than $100,000.

'Not impotent, had sex with several women'NITHYANANDA

While last month, Swami Nithyananda and actress and Ranjitha categorically denied their role in the alleged sex romp captured on camera, the former confessed before Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths that he did have sex with his disciples, but with consent.


In the interrogation report recorded by the CID, a copy of which is with MiD DAY, the disgraced swami admitted that he had sex with the actress. Initially Nithyananda claimed that he does not get sexually aroused as he is neither man nor woman, but after the CID screened the controversial video for him, he told the investigating officer that it was indeed him in the video.

The self-styled swami said that he was not impotent, but only had an erectile dysfunction, swearing that whatever he told CID officials during the interrogation was only the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Elaborating on his sexual life at his ashram, he admitted that, apart from the actress, he had sex with more than 15 other women, but did not remember their names. He admitted that what he did was wrong and that sometimes he chose female devotees to have sex with, and sometimes they were already willing to do so themselves.

Justifying his misdeeds, the disgraced swami said that he had done nothing illegal, although his deeds might be socially and religiously wrong. He said that he might have had sex with many people, but never did he force anyone and all the encounters were voluntary. He also said that he just wanted to come out his present mess.

It may be recalled that Ranjitha, at a press conference held in Bangalore last month, denied that she was the woman in the video with Nithyananda. She added that the details had been fabricated and also lodged a case against Lenin Karuppan, Nityananda's former driver who taped the act , Ranjitha also claimed that she had no recollection of any kind of sexual exploitation by Nithyananda.

The Other Side
Speaking to Ranjitha's advocate, Gajendra Naidu regarding Nityananda's confession, we asked him what the confession meant and how it would stand in a court of law. He differed the confessional statement, saying that it would be unacceptable in a court.

Explaining further, he said, "When an accused confesses his crime before the investigating authority, they should recover facts related to the crime, which are permissible in a court of law and not just a confession made before cops. This is generally considered to have been made under duress and does not stand in court.

Sathyananda is based on Nithyananda

Director Madan Patel, who belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party, has dared to do a movie based on the recent expose of Swamy Nithyananda's scandal. The film has been titled Sathyananda and Madan describes it as his most ambitious project, which started rolling from last week.

The muhuratha of Sathyananda was recently held at the Freedom Park in Bangalore. Addressing the media, Madan Patel said, "I am a staunch believer in Hinduism, which is facing a big threat these days. Some fraudulent, self proclaiming god men are playing with the beliefs and trust of Hindus. I want to expose them and create awareness among the people."

The Kannada film producer is success in finding Ravi Chethan for the lead role (Nithyananda) in the film Sathyananda. He has approached Nimitha and Charmi for female lead, which is yet to be confirmed. Dinakar has written the dialogues and Ragu is the cameraman for the film.

However, the film launch of Sathyananda was a grand event, which was attended by several top politicians including Home Minister R Ashok. The shooting of the first day was held at Freedom Park after taking a few shots of the muhurath.

Karnataka high court dismisses contempt petition filed by Nithyananda's disciple

Karnataka high court today dismissed a contempt of court petition filed against a criminal investigation department (CID) officer by a woman disciple of self-styled godman Nithyananda, facing charges of rape.

A division bench, comprising Justice K Shridhar Rao and Justice K Govindarajulu, dismissed the petition filed by Anjula Jackson, against the officer, Yogappa submitting that "the investigating officer had interfered in the course of justice".

Yogappa has been investigating the charges against Nithyananda.
