Kuala Lumpur, Mar 10: A day after it was reported that scandal-tainted Swami Nithyananda's ashram in Kuala Lumpur will be shut down, Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) president stated otherwise.

MHS president RS Mohan Shan that the ashram will not shut down and that it will continue to promote Nithyananda teachings.
"If the case is proven against Swami Nithyananda, we will just advise the centre to change its name and continue its activities which are in accordance with the religion," The Star quoted him as saying on Wednesday, Mar 10.
"So far, we have not received any information and therefore, we are not in a position to issue any directive for the time being," he added.
On Tuesday, Mar 9, Nithyananda's Kuala Lumpur ashram spokesperson informed that the ashram has ceased operations until 'the truth is revealed'.
"We made the decision to stop operations for a while following advice from the Malaysia Hindu Sangam," the spokesperson was quoted as saying in the same newspaper.
