Sex video: Ashram defends Nityananda
BANGALORE: Rejecting rape charge and doubts raised over death of a foreign devotee of self-styled godman Paramahamsa Nityananda, his ashram on Monday said he would make a public appearance soon and answer all allegations.
The charges were part of a "conspiracy to malign the image of the swami and impede ashram's social activities," the ashram spokesperson Nitya Sachidananda told reporters at the Nityananda Ashram near Bidadi, about 40 km from here.
A 23-year-old woman, an inmate of the Bidadi ashram, had alleged that Nithyananda had raped and sexually harassed dozens of women in the ashram.
Chennai police have registered a rape and cheating case against Nityananda, days after video footage of his alleged sleazy acts were telecast by TV channels.
Sachidananda also denied a charge that mystery shrouded the death of foreign national Melvyan Boyd Diamond, a Yoga teacher in the ashram.
"Diamond had family history of cardiac problems and he died following an accidental fall from the second floor of the building he lived in," he said, adding that the ashram had arranged for his cremation.
The operation to malign Nityananda had been done in "a surgical precision" and "Swamiji himself will come and comment on all the issues. As his "personal security" was at risk "we have advised him to come after some days," the spokesperson said.
The ashram, which faced violent protests after telecast of the video, has so far not lodged any police complaint.

Bangalore, Mar 8: In the wake of the raging controversy, Swami Nithyananda appeared on the official website of his mission Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam to assure his devotees that he has not indulged in anything illegal.

The spiritual guru, who is seen clad in saffron, in the video posted on Sunday, Mar 7 told his devotees, "I assure all of you that nothing illegal has been done by me or my organization. We are in the process of collecting evidence to establish this lie and the motive behind this false campaign."
Promising to appear before them soon to clarify on the issue personally, Swami Nithyananda urged his followers to not to "rush to judgments before all the facts have been tabled".
"Please wait for some days; we will collect all the facts and present it clearly to you all. I thank all devotees and well-wishers for standing by me during this moment of challenge," he added.

Swami Nithyanada's whereabouts are unknown while his spokesperson has claimed that he is attending the ongoing Kumbh Mela.

താന് തന്നെയാണ് ദൃശ്യങ്ങള് പകര്ത്തിയതെന്നും ജീവന് ഭീഷണിയുള്ളതിനാലാണ് രണ്ടര മണിക്കൂര് നീണ്ട സി.ഡി പോലീസിന് കൈമാറുന്നതെന്നും അയാള് അറിയിച്ചതായി കമ്മീഷണര് ടി. രാജേന്ദ്രന് വാര്ത്താസമ്മേളനത്തില് പറഞ്ഞു.
ബാംഗ്ലൂര് ആശ്രമം കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് മൂന്ന് കൊലപാതകങ്ങള്, ഒരു കൊലപാതകശ്രമം, നിര്ബന്ധിത സ്വവര്ഗരതി തുടങ്ങിയ സംഭവങ്ങള് നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും ലെനിന്റെ പരാതിയില് പറഞ്ഞു. കഴിഞ്ഞമാസം നിത്യാനന്ദ സ്വാമി സേലത്തുവെച്ച് തനിക്കെതിരെ വധഭീഷണി മുഴക്കിയെന്നും ലെനിന് പരാതിയില് പറഞ്ഞു. ചെന്നൈയില് കഴിയുന്ന ലെനിന് പോലീസ് സംരക്ഷണം ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തി.
ബാംഗ്ലൂര് ആശ്രമത്തില് നടക്കുന്ന പീഡനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ലെനിന് പരാതിയും നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പരാതിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് സ്വാമിക്കെതിരെ ലൈംഗികപീഡനം, സ്വവര്ഗരതി, വഞ്ചന തുടങ്ങിയ കുറ്റങ്ങള്ക്ക് സെന്ട്രല് ക്രൈംബ്രാഞ്ച് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര് ചെയ്തു.
സംഭവങ്ങളെല്ലാം നടന്നത് ബാംഗ്ലൂര് ആശ്രമത്തില് വെച്ചായതിനാല് കേസന്വേഷണം കര്ണാടക പോലീസിന് കൈമാറുമെന്നും കമ്മീഷണര് പറഞ്ഞു. ലെനിന് കൈമാറിയ സിഡി യും പരാതിയിലെ വിവരങ്ങളും കര്ണാടക പോലീസിന് കൈമാറാനായി സിസിബി പോലീസ് ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി കമ്മീഷണര് ശങ്കര് തിങ്കളാഴ്ച ബാംഗ്ലൂരിലേക്കു പോകും.
2004ലാണ് ലെനിന് നിത്യാനന്ദസ്വാമിയുടെ ഭക്തനായത്. 2006ല് സ്വാമിയുടെ ശിഷ്യനായശേഷം ആശ്രമത്തില് അന്തേവാസിയായി.
ആശ്രമത്തില് വരുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളായ ഭക്തരോട് നിത്യാനന്ദ, താന് ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്റെ അവതാരമാണെന്നാണ് അവകാശപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നതത്രേ. സുന്ദരികളായ സ്ത്രീകളെ ലൈംഗികാവശ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. ഇത്തരം നടപടികളെ ചോദ്യംചെയ്ത ആശ്രമവാസികളെ അവിടെനിന്ന് വിരട്ടിയോടിക്കുകയും ചിലരെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

In a video CD sent to a Tamil TV channel, Nithyananda said, “Neither I nor my dhyanapeetam (ashram) have done anything illegal or against the law. I’m trying to collect all facts on the allegations against me and I will soon expose the truth,” the seer said.
The channel, however, claimed that Nithyananda had not made any reference to specific allegations regarding his “sexual romp” with Tamil actress Ranjitha. The seer made the headlines last week when a channel first aired explicit scenes between Nithyananda and Ranjitha.
Tamil Nadu Police registered cases against him at Chennai and Coimbatore after some lawyers and his former devotee Nithya Dharmananda alias K Lenin, lodged complaints.
Ranjitha, who also acted in Malayalam and Telugu movies, is reported to be hiding in Kerala. Nithyananda is accused of misbehaving with many women. The seer has a huge following abroad and is said to be close to many political leaders.

Nakkeeran Nithyananda Scandal Video
City Civil Court XV assistant judge A. Manickavasagar ordered the notice and posted the request for 8th March for further hearing. Nithyananda in his petition filed in the city civil court requested the judge to restrain Nakkeeran, Dinakaran and Tamil Murasu for publishing articles alongside photos of his scandal.
In his petition filed in the Civil court he stated that he has over 4.5 million devotees in 17 different countries and that he was providing free education to the needy, while conducting free medical camps for the poor, that are going to be effect by this sex scandal. He wrote in his petition that an inmate named “Premananda” A.K.A Lenin Karuppan from his mongrel videotaped his private pleasuring moments and tried to tarnish his public image.

In the reply of Nakkeeran Nithyananda scandal video, Nithyananda Mission’s website released a statement that goes something like this…. “At this moment, we feel that a mix of conspiracy, graphics and rumour is at play in these recent events that have unfolded.

According to ashram sources, Tamil film-star Ranjitha dreamt of a married life with self-styled godman swami Paramhansa Nityananda and her possessiveness made her expose him on TV channels.
Ranjitha, who is three years elder to Nityananda (32), was married to an army officer with two children, when she was introduced to him three years back by veteran star K R Vijaya's niece Sudha, a full-time devotee.
"She was not a regular visitor in the beginning," said the source. "The swami's charm gradually made her fall for him and she even decided to shift base from Chennai to Bangalore." Ranjitha filed for divorce some time ago and the matter is pending in the court.
After getting intimate with the swami, she is understood to have asked him to marry her and even got a positive response.
Ashram sources say she could have convinced him by giving the instance of Vidyabhushan of Kukke Subramanya Matt, who renounced his sanyas to marry a medical student.
Lenin Karuppan, a close aide to the swamy, who owned up his role in taping the sexual acts, was also close to Ranjitha and used to call her 'anni' (sister-in-law) occasionally. Although Nityananda assured Ranjitha that he would marry her, he was worried about the property worth several hundred crore rupees that he would have to give up along with his sanyas.
Eventually, the swami not only turned down her proposal but also made things worse by seeing other women. A possessive Ranjitha pleaded with him several times and could have turned vindictive when her pleas fell on
deaf ears.
The plot
"I think Karuppan and Ranjitha hatched the plan together," said the source. "I recall that they spoke quite casually to each other since a long time."
Karuppan is also understood to have blackmailed the swami just a month ago but Nityananda was not in a position to oblige.
"Please don't force me to comment," said Swamy Sevanda, personal secretary to Nityananda. "I know both Karuppan and Ranjitha and also know that they are not honest," he said. There is also an unconfirmed report of Ranjitha attempting suicide on Saturday. She was learnt to be in Kerala yesterday.
'I'll come clean'
Meanwhile, Nityananda has uploaded his video statement on his ashram website from an undisclosed location. The statement says that the controversy is a conspiracy hatched against him and he would soon come out clean.

The godman's sex scandal emerged when Sun TV followed by other media organisations aired and published the visuals of the video of Swami Nithyananda fondling a Tamil actress, identified as Ranjitha.

The godman’s former disciple, Nitya Dharmananda alias Lenin Karuppan, has claimed he filmed Nityanand’s sexcapades “ to unmask the man masquerading as a spiritual leader”. The videos showed Nityanand in compromising positions with actress Ranjitha. According to Dharmananda, she served as Nityanand’s personal attendant during her frequent, dayslong visits to his ashram.
The former disciple is said to have told the police more about the godman’s ‘ sexcapades’ and other murky happenings at his ashram. “ He had intimate relationships with many other heroines too,” Dharmananda said.
He added that his suspicions about the godman’s activities were aroused with the death of a devotee from Canada at the ashram. They were deepened when another devotee attempted suicide.
Dharmananda is also said to have handed over to the police two CDs believed to contain Nityanand’s dalliance with other tinseltown beauties.
The former Nityanand disciple said he had joined the godman’s staff as a driver. He went on to become Nityanand’s trusted lieutenant and settled down in the Bangalore ashram in 2006. He had free access to the godman’s private rooms and he said he made the tapes December last.
“ Sensing I had done a sting operation, Nityanand and ashram functionaries threatened me on February 18 during a visit to Salem. I escaped,” Dharmananda said. He has sought police protection.
However, Dharmananda’s claims have raised doubts about the motive behind the release of the sleaze tapes.
In the meantime, Nityanand has said the videos were “ morphed” and that it was “ a conspiracy to defame” him. In an appeal through his website, he has urged his followers not to be carried away by the tapes.

The former Nityanand disciple said he had joined the godman’s staff as a driver. He went on to become Nityanand’s trusted lieutenant and settled down in the Bangalore ashram in 2006. He had free access to the godman’s private rooms and he said he made the tapes December last.
“ Sensing I had done a sting operation, Nityanand and ashram functionaries threatened me on February 18 during a visit to Salem. I escaped,” Dharmananda said. He has sought police protection.
However, Dharmananda’s claims have raised doubts about the motive behind the release of the sleaze tapes.
In the meantime, Nityanand has said the videos were “ morphed” and that it was “ a conspiracy to defame” him. In an appeal through his website, he has urged his followers not to be carried away by the tapes.

Lenin, who is now staying with a friend in Chennai, met the city police commissioner T Rajendran on Friday evening and sought protection from Nithyananda's disciples, whom he alleged were attempting to eliminate him. Police said he submitted, along with a petition seeking police protection, some DVDs containing more scandalous' footages to expose the godman. "I have directed the central crime branch (CCB) deputy commissioner of police C Sridhar to look into his petition and we will provide him protection," city police commissioner T Rajendran told TOI. The scandal broke out on Tuesday night after a television channel telecast a tape, showing the long-haired godman in a sexual romp with a Tamil actress, triggering protest and violence in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
On Thursday, the police registered a case of cheating under Sec 420 of IPC against Nithyananda based on a complaint by a group of lawyers. On Friday, based on Lenin's complaint, police slapped more cases against him including those under IPC sections 295 (A) (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy). Disciples say that Nithyananda is in Varanasi attending the Kumbh Mela.
"As, according to Lenin, the alleged sexual acts of the godman in the tape took place in his Bidadi ashram in Karnataka, we will forward the petition to police in that state. We will cooperate with the investigating officials," said Rajendran. However, the Chennai police will investigate the cases of cheating and intimidation booked against the godman, he said.
Police sources said Lenin, who hails from Salem, had joined the ashram at Bidadi as a technical staff and was assigned to make DVDs of the godman's speeches and writings and market them to the public. After a year, he became one of the loyal devotees for the godman with access even to his bedroom, Lenin told police.
But devotion to the godman turned to anger following alleged sexual misdemenours of the godman, Lenin reportedly told the Chennai police. "This prompted me to expose the godman, who has been cheating the public and innocent woman devotees," said Lenin, who alleged that he had taped the sexual acts of the godman with the actress in December 2009. On learning about this, the godman and his devotees threatened him with dire consequences in Seeragapadi near Salem when they were taking part in a function to inaugurate a new ashram. Later, he made copies of the sleaze tape and sent them to some media offices and police officials, said sources.

Lenin Karuppan, formerly Nithya Dharmananda of the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, has alleged that his life has been under threat from the Swami, adding that he also suspected foul play behind the death of a woman inmate a year ago. Similarly, an inmate had attempted to commit suicide, he complained.
In the complaint filed with Chennai City Police Commissioner T Rajendran, Lenin, of Salem district in Tamil Nadu, who claimed to be an inmate of the ashram in Bangalore since 2006, said the swami used to lure many young women devotees claiming that he was the reincarnation of Lord Krishna. Of late, he had become close to actress Ranjitha, with whom he has been allegedly caught on tape.
The tape was recorded in December to stop the swami from further defrauding devotees and public, said Lenin. He claimed the swami got a wind of the existence of such a tape and threatened him in February.
Based on the complaint, the police here have filed a case under sections 295(a), 376, 377, 506 (i) and 120 (b). However, since the events described in the complaint happened in Bangalore, the city police have decided to hand over the case and all evidence to their counterparts in Karnataka, said Rajendran

Swami Dharmananda alias Lenin Karuppan told police that Swami Nityananda was sexually assaulting women visiting the ashram and forced them into unnatural acts of sex. One person had even died in a suspicious manner, whereas another one had attempted suicide in the ashram. Karuppan said that Nityananda has bisexual tendencies. Karuppan admitted that he was Nityananda's faithful devotee since 2004 and alleged that Nityananda used to compare himself to Lord Krishna and his devotees(women) as gopis. He then used to take liberties, which involved acts of physical initmacy.
Karuppan said that last month when Nityananda had come to a function in Tamil Nadu he had threatned Karuppan to deposit the sextapes with him or face severe consequences. Fearing for his life, Karuppan fled their company.
T Rajendra, the Commissioner confirmed that Karuppan had given the complaint and a CD of the bedroom scenes of Nityananda has also been submitted to the police.
